Free legacy fundraising training and advice on offer through award scheme

Thousands of pounds worth of bursaries and advice is being offered to charities and their staff to support work attracting legacy donations.

Three award schemes have been launched by the Legacy Futures consultancy offering mentoring, advice, professional training and bursaries.

This includes the Crispin Ellison Bursary Award, which is covers the cost of attaining a certificate in Charity Legal Administration, worth £1,000. Two runner-up awares provide £250 for online training.

The CiCLA bursary award is open to anyone working or volunteering for a charity in the UK, who could benefit from increasing their knowledge and skills in the field of estate administration and management,” said Legacy Futures.

Meanwhile, the Legacy Future Leader Award is awarded to legacy professionals under 35 and offers six months of mentoring.

The Legacy Futures Innovation Award is for organisations, that demonstrate a commitment to innovation in legacy fundraising. This offers advisory support worth £5,000.

The deadline for entries is 31 March and the winners will be notified in May.

“We’ve launched the Legacy Futures Awards to celebrate and support gifts in Wills and InMemory fundraisers and their teams, to equip them with the skills and knowledge they need for the future,” said Legacy Futures chief executive Ashley Rowthorn.

“We believe that legacy giving is the future, and we want to play our part to see our sector and its people flourish.”

Legacy Futures launched earlier this year bringing togethe the consultancies Legacy Foresight, Legacy Link and Legacy Voice.
